What Age Group Is Right for My Child?

Each BeachSports program has its own age range, listed at the bottom of this page. To take part, your child must be at least the minimum age by the first day of their program. All participants must also be fully toilet trained. See our Toilet Training Requirements article for details.

BEACH Program age groups

The BEACH Program splits into two age groups, Mini-Groms and Groms, each with its own age-appropriate activities and curriculum, and each with its own coaches. Their exact ages are in the list below.

Can siblings in different age groups be placed together?

If an older sibling wants to join a younger age group, we're happy to accommodate. However, for safety and to ensure the best experience for everyone, we aren't able to place younger children in the older group. This applies to both the Mini Groms/Groms split in the BEACH Program and across different programs.

What if my child is close to the minimum age?

If your child turns the minimum age shortly after their program start date, you won't be able to register online for that session. The age minimum is based on your child's age on the first day of the program, not their age later in the season. That said, every child develops differently. If you feel your child is ready, please reach out to us and we can discuss whether the program is a good fit and assist with registration.
