Beach Program
Age 4+Designed for kids to explore the coast in a way that feels safe and fun. We focus on turning "the ocean is big" into "the ocean is my backyard." through hands-on experiences and supportive instructors.

Why this beach
Surf, sand and skate at Hermosa Beach
Hermosa Beach is a classic South Bay beach town: the Strand running the length of the sand, the pier at its heart, and an easy, playful energy that kids feel the moment they arrive. It is also home to the Hermosa Beach Skatepark, where our Skateboard Program runs, so a camper can trade the surf for the ramps and back again in the same summer.
Our coaches grew up on these beaches, and they meet every kid exactly where they are, in the water or on a board. Whether your camper is catching a first wave or dropping in at the skatepark, we turn hesitation into confidence, and "I can't" into "I just did."
From first steps on the sand to surf, ocean skills and skateboarding, every program runs right here. And because we are locally owned and operated, camp at Hermosa Beach gives back to the community it is part of.

Hermosa Beach camp questions
Start with our Find Your Camp guide, which walks you to the right fit. As a rule of thumb: the Beach Program is where first-timers find their footing, Surf and Ocean suit confident swimmers ready for the water, and Skate is a great land day at the Hermosa skatepark. Any of them can be your camper’s first.
No. Every program is built to meet beginners on day one, and our coaches specialize in first-timers, replacing "I can’t" with "I just did." Kids with experience get pushed at the right level, too.
It is the most spirited beach in the South Bay: the Strand and the pier right there, a walkable beach-town feel, and the skatepark on hand for land days. Kids settle in fast here.
